Conservation Statement

The statement set out the core heritage attributes and conservation requirements based upon a variety of available sources of information.

It highlighted the role conservation should play alongside the use of the building as a commercial venture. The challenge was to ensure it maintained a sustainable function with the need to observe historical, architectural or social significance. It advised that this should be achieved through the measured approach of policy as directed by a detailed study of the building and area around it.

Where knowledge of a subject matter remained limited, the statement recommended that efforts should be made to analyse and corroborate any missing or incomplete information to provide for better decision making to any ongoing or future works undertaken.
